A libertarian case for monarchy

Clear thought and discussion suffer when all sorts of good things, like liberty, equality, fraternity, rights, majority rule, general welfare – some in tension with others are marketed together under the portmanteau label «democracy.»
 Democracy’s core meaning is a particular method choosing, replacing, influencing government officials (Schumpeter 1950). It not doctrine what should do. Nor it same thing as personal freedom or free society an egalitarian social ethos. True enough, classical liberals, Thomas Paine (1791) Ludwig von Mises (1919), did scorn hereditary monarchy express touching faith that representative democracy would choose excellent leaders adopt policies truly serving common interest. Experience has taught us better, American founders already knew constructing separated limited powers only filtered democracy.
 As exercise, without claiming my arguments decisive, I’ll contend constitutional can better preserve people’s opportunities than turned out practice.1
